Every year businesses spend millions of pounds replacing assets that are lost or stolen; such assets can be vehicles, lorry loads or machinery. The urgent need for sophisticated technology that prevents or reduces these kinds of losses can now be answered by mtrack. aim’s intelligent tracking services can dramatically enhance the ability to track and recover stolen assets. The mtrack technology allows fast and easy location of high-value or mission-critical assets.
Each mtrack unit contains a built-in GSM modem that works with the GSM network to supply aim’s ARC with information about the approximate location of the tracking unit. The RF homing beacon, also incorporated in the unit, enables identification of the precise position of the asset.
mtrack Tracking Services were designed to overcome the limitations of most tracking devices currently available on the market that use the Global Positioning System (GPS). Unlike the GPS systems, the mtrack unit does not need to ‘see the sky’ to provide information about its location. This means that the mtrack tracking technology can locate objects in challenging conditions such as inside buildings or concealed inside packages. mtrack technology does not require an external power source or expert assistance for installing and uninstalling of the system, which makes it a convenient, cost-effective tracking solution.
The tracking unit can be programmed and operated remotely so there is no need to withdraw it from its day to day operations 24 hour monitoring of the mtrack unit from the aim ARC
Track2Find software enables the aim ARC to control the mtrack unit and obtain its locations and alarm notifications. It stores information about all protected assets as well as contact details for customers and recovery services.
The initial mtrack unit location is calculated by establishing the mobile phone transmitter the unit is responding to. The mtrack system can provide a more precise location during recovery by working out unit's position relative to the nearest mobile phone transmitter. Typically, the location is sub 500 meters; more accuracy can be achieved in urban areas.
The built-in directional RF homing device enables tracking of the unit to an accuracy of sub 1 metre. A national tracking network locates the unit on behalf of the customer. Once the asset is located or positively identified, the police are called in to make arrests and reclaim the asset.
